The message on the Tenugui (Japanese traditional towel) this year is presented one character as “跳”(leaping/jumping).

The shape of character “卯”(rabbit) represents the opening of the gate with the meaning of all things will flourish. In addition, as the “rabbit” is said to be a symbol of leap forward, prosperity, and improvement and to gather information with its long ears, the economy can be jumped in the year of the rabbit. We believe everyone can hope for it.

May everything be brighter this year, and may our business continue for generations with the teachings from predecessor. This year’s Tenugui is in the traditional auspicious color of “orange”, which has the meaning of “prospering from generation to generation” with both symbols of ours and the fish market’s which we have been serving for generations.

We prepare for the Tenugui for a New Year’s gift with each purchase at the shop and on the website.
